Magyar English

Introduction

Our language studio was formed in 1993 in order to contribute to the teaching of English, German, French, Italian and Hungarian at multinational companies.
We have been involved in teaching foreign languages for people who seek jobs abroad since 1999.

Professional experience

We have not functioned as one school before, however, owing to the growing demands, our teachers have been involved for years in teaching languages at almost every company in Székesfehérvár, through local or Budapest organisations. Some of our staff used to be employed at these companies, so they are very familiar with the multinational atmosphere and language. Moreover, some of our teachers used to live in English speaking countries for several years, therefore they are confident in using and applying English.

Objectives

We aim to provide people with excellent communication skills and hope to equip them with such language knowledge that can be used to their advantage at work.. Apart from the normal lessons we would like to involve native speakers, which will provide facilities as well as other free time activities.

Courses in English, German, French and Italian

Our key aspect is to consider the demands of our customers. On the basis of this we decide the number of lessons that will be needed to achieve a certain level of capability or establish the level that can be reached after a certain number of hours. When working out the levels built on each other, we allow the students to rejoin the courses at any point if they were unable to attend for some reason.

Here is a list of our proposed levels:

  • General English/German/French/Italian from beginning to advanced level
  • Business English/ German/French/Italian from beginning to advanced level
  • Basic English/ German/French/Italian knowledge with "surviving" vocabulary and structures
  • "Company language", the special terminology of the Customer, which can be fitted into any course run at a given time as a supplementary module or run

Measuring results

After finishing one level we will request an external organisation or teacher to measure the level of knowledge of the students, where company observers are also welcome. Our goal is to receive positive feedback from our students and to prove that they are able to use the language as a mean of communication at work.
