Going out

Great restaurants, cafés, pubs and clubs are popping up all over Budapest and the best way to find out about them is to pick up a copy of Pesti Est.

Pesti Est is the local Hungarian-language going out guide. It has complete listings of movies (including English and French language films), concerts, performances, restaurants and clubs as well as classifieds. For non-Hungarian speakers, it can be a little intimidating – but the film section is usually easy enough to decipher. Pesti Est is available free every week all over Budapest in theaters, coffee houses, restaurant and the like. Copies are put out each Thursday and it is best to get yours fast because they can go quickly!
Need a sitter?

EuroMove can also arrange
for baby-sitting services!

The Budapest Program is the more concise, multilingual guide to culture in Budapest. This useful guide in English, French, German and Italian is published monthly. It features listings for exhibitions, concerts, performances and other activities around the city. Pick up a copy at tourist offices or currency exchange booths.

Cultural Activities

Hungary, and Budapest in particular, offer up a wealth of cultural activities, performances and festivals. Budapest alone supports seven orchestras and a performance at the Opera is something not to be missed. You can buy tickets directly at the box offices. Prices are quite reasonable for such world class entertainment.
